COVID-19 Update

Peace to you in a time of anxiety! I want to update you on how we are responding as a church to the challenges of the COVID-19 coronavirus. After reviewing the information from our state and local governments and the advice of the bishop’s office, we are again revising our plans for Sunday worship at Good Shepherd.

Bishop Suarez has strongly encouraged congregations to suspend regular gathering for worship in order to prevent or slow the spread of the virus.

We are rapidly putting together resources so that our members can worship together from home. We anticipate being able to provide a live video stream of worship on Sunday morning. At the various least we will provide written prayers and texts so that at 9:45am we can worship together, even from home.

While worship will happen here at Good Shepherd and our doors will not be locked, I am strongly encouraging everyone to consider worshiping at home. Especially those in the category of people who are more vulnerable to this disease (older adults and those with heart and lung issues) should consider avoiding crowds — including worship.

For those who do come, we will be foregoing communion and physical contact. We will also not be having education time after worship including Faithworks and Table Talk.

We will provide updates as the situation continues to change.

Grace and peace, Pastor Keith
